A successful event !!
Pylot attended and exhibited at SASTA's (South Africa Sugar Technology Associaton) 90th conference. It was our first time exhibiting and was a productive and successful 3 days. The purpose was to showcase Pylot's offerings but also to get a better understanding the sugar industry and its roleplayers.
Over the 3 days many reserch papers were presented, allowing us to get an understanding of the amount of work that goes in to ensuring the sugar industry stays a viable one. What was encouraging was to see how much technology plays a part in this, and more importantly, how IoT could benefit the industry.
Pylot was offered the opportunity to present a commercial paper on IoT for agriculture. The presentation was done by Trevor Hart-Jones, the Managing Director of Pylot, and it was very well received. Many delegates visited the Pylot exhibition stand after the presentation to find out more about how IoT could benefit their work.
A key focus areas for growers is around starting to monitor their utility consumption (electricity and water) and to manage this process better.
